Hello...

I have seen a number of videos and web pages on Tap and Go in Rome...but nowhere does it tell whether or not there is a sign-up procedure. Will my contactless-enabled credit card just work (like it does in the US anywhere the wifi icon shows on the card reader)? Or is there some pre-registration necessary to link my card with the ATAC system?

It sounds like no registration is necessary, unless you wish to use more extended services:

It is an RFID icon but people call it WIFI because of dumbing down, but yes it will work without registration.
