rome, paris where else?
hi!
My friend and I are going to Europe in May (1st-14th). We going to London, Paris, Rome and will probably spend a day in Venice and a day in Florence.
Is there any other European city you suggest visiting?
also, will a day in Venice and Florence be enough time to spend there?
Thanx

You have more than a full plate already. Stop the list right where is at and start another one on MUST SEE sights in London, Paris, and Rome. As far as Florence and Venice, if a day is all you have, that's better than none. That said, Venice logistics require that you have more than a day to make sense of spending the money to get there. Allow one day when moving between home bases, which accounts for unavoidable delays as well.
May 1-3 London
May 3 Train/fly to Paris
May 4-6 Paris
May 7 Fly/train out to Rome
May 7-9 Rome
May 10 Train to Florence
May 11 Florence- On to Venice
May 12 Venice
May 13 Train back to Rome
May 14th Fly back from Rome
This is not a cheap proposition, so spend your money wisely and really get a good feel for these amazing cities. It is a bit rush as it is, but better this than nothing.

Hi Janet,
Have you had a chance to list the things you would like to do in each of the cities you picked so far? I would do that and then allow time for travel between each place and see how much time is left. You might want to add the "leftover" time to the cities you have already chosen.

You already have too many places on your list for 14 days (or 12 days, if two are travel days).
And no, a day in Venice will not be enough time to spend there.
Fly into London, fly/train to Paris, fly to Rome, fly out of Rome.
A day in Florence is not enough either, but you can do a day trip from Rome (about 1.5 hours by train each way).
If you must include Venice, fly Paris to Venice, train to Florence, train to Rome, fly out of Rome. It would be insane to backtrack from Venice to Rome.
