Rome Opera Tickets December 6

I'm trying to help friends find and buy tickets to Verdi's MacBeth at the Rome Opera House on December 6, with Ricardo Muti conducting. Can't find any online. Any suggestions?

Hi StCirq - have you tried charta.it / vivaticket ? That's how I've always bought opera tickets for Italy. I'd think it might be way too late for December now, though, especially if it's Muti.

Have you called these people? Last time I looked, they were advertising Dec 6 tickets

Also, SelectItaly appears to have them -- which would be a much better route to go than the above people.

I initially assumed you'd tried them, but if you haven't you should. Using their website, I came up with two tickets available on Dec 6 -- I stopped one step short of actual purchase, so if you've already tried that, I didn't.

If they don't have them and the above site I linked to says they do, be aware that it is always something of a high-wire suspense act using "scarce" ticket brokers like that to actually come up with the goods. I've done it successfully, but the tickets come through only at the 11th hour, and I'm never sure they actually will.

kybourbon and I were posting at the same time. I wasn't implying anything wrong with her suggestion. I was referring to my own first post in warning about the service.

My "suggestion" is the official website which rolls over to their ticketing agent (vivaticket which is much like the US seller Ticketmaster). Selectitaly is a reseller as I would assume is wstickets.

To find many official websites for Rome venues, use the Roma Pass website. Under events/services there is a list of activities. Most will have a web link to the actual venue.

The Rome Tourist Board also has the 060608 website which has many direct links. You really have to use the advanced search tab or this website is not user friendly.

I did try charta.it and vivaticket. Couldn't find anything.

I've sent the wstickets and selectitaly sites to my friends (hope they get the email before the tickets are gone).

Will also try Roma Pass and the Tourist Board.

Grazie a tutti!

Niente, StCirq.

Yes, kybourbon. I was saying -- briefly -- that I wasn't implying there was anything wrong with your suggestion to check the opera house website directly. No good deed.... (again, saving myself the keystrokes).

On the vivaticket, there is contact info for advance purchase which includes e-mails and phone numbers.

There are also several pages of ticket sale points in Rome, many with e-mails.

Thanks all once again. I just heard from my friends and they've gotten tickets and are thrilled.

Good to hear StCirq - by which route did they get them, for future reference ? Did they pay much of a mark-up ? Thanks.

I'm not sure which of the links I sent them worked for them or how much they paid, but I'll ask and let you know.
