Rome hotels with AC reasonable
We are going to Rome the first week of July. Need some recs for a hotel that will have AirConditioning available 24hrs. due to the hot weather. I have heard some hotels shut it off at night. Due to a medical condition my travel partner needs to sleep with ac.
My budget is approx $100-$175 a night

the euro-dollar exchange rate ain't what it used to be, but a few years ago I happily stayed at the Santa Chiara and it has air conditioning. I don't know current price for a double, it's probably over your budget these days.
The Parlamento is less expensive, has an elevator and a/c.
Search on it here, and at www.tripadvisor.com

We stayed at the Hotel Ranieri a couple of years ago; it is clean, adequate, has a/c, and was "reasonable", as Rome hotels go.

Also spent one night, on return from Tuscany, at the Hotel Venezia, which had a/c, beautifully appointed with antiques, and cost a little more than the Ranieri. I think it's www.hotelvenezia.com

We stayed at the Hotel Alimandi which had basic, clean rooms and a great breakfast. The A/C worked well and could be individually controlled. The hotel is 1/2 block from the Vatican Museum and was relatively reasonable two summers ago.
