Rome hotel
My wife and I are going to be in Rome 12/31-1/9. We're looking for a cheap hotel (under $100/night total cost). I found a hotel called the Pinewood Hotel. Does anyone know anything about this hotel or have any other recommenedations? Niether of us speak Italian and we want fairly nice accomodations with a breakfast on a budget.
Thanks!

I don't know the Pinewood.
I have a res at Hotel Mimosa, near the Pantheon for 80Euros/night ($96) over three nights in March.
It's a double with NO bath.

Under $100/night is very tough in Rome.

We stayed in hotel called Des Artistes- located near the termini station. Great price, lovely room for under 100.00euro good breakfast and free internet access. Web address is www.hoteldesartistes.com we also got a better price for paying cash.

Pinewood Hotel I think at some distance from the center. I think I mapped it and although it seems nice I got the impression that you'll need a car....
I think all the hotels in the center will be a bit expensive unless you stay near the termini or at the university area. Both require a lot of metro use or some transport.
We opted to stay near the Prati/Vatican and ended up paying about 210 euros for a triple in Feb.
The doubles were a bit under 200seuros--still pretty expensive and probably more than what you want to pay.
Good luck!
