Rome,Florance, Pisa & Lucca

I have booked two weeks in Rome. Now I am determined to go to Florance, Pisa and Lucca. I need help finding the cheapest way to travel there from Rome. And in what order. I am going to London afterwards,to see my Mom, and wonder whether I should fly from Tuscany, or back via Rome. Also cheapest places to stay, in these towns.
I would really appreciate some help, Ruth

Hi Rchristine,

The train will take you everywhere you want to go, inexpensively:

www.trenitalia.com

Be sure to type in "Florence" as the destination (no "a&quot.

As far as cheap places to stay, can you give us a budget? Do you mind hostels? Convents? The more information you can give, the more we can help you.

For cheap flight from Italy to London, check www.whichbudget.com

I see that you started a new post as a PS to this one; it's easier for us to follow if you add a reply to your original post. Good luck.

Hi R,

Take the train from Rome to Pisa, see the tower take the train to Lucca.

Stay overnight.

Train to Florence.

Check www.whichbudget.com for flights to London from Florence, Bologna, Pisa.

If you have to fly from Pisa, take the train from Rome to Florence then go to Lucca, then Pisa and overnight there.

Any reason why you have left out Venice?

LOL, suze!!

Ruth, you must be new to the board, so welcome. It's a lot easier for us to help you if you keep of all questions/comments about a particular issue on the same thread, instead of starting a new one whenever you have something to add. I hope this helps you to get the answers you need.

Thank you all for your help. Unfortunately after a brain tumour op. I have a lot of problem remembering what I have read.
I am not drunk Elle, just didn't know what to do for P.S.
Ira,the only reason I left out Venice is that I have been there but not the Tuscan towns. My Gr.Grandfather was born in the Lucca Region, I am on a Family History Hunt!!
