If you go to this site, the official site of Rome's Office of Tourism, you will see the stops for all 3 of Rome's excelent hop on/off buses, a great value, including the stops for the Archeobus:

AQUEDUCT PARK AND APPIAN WAY
I just posted my catacomb directions to someone over at the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree.
He also wanted to know about the Aqueduct Park and walking the Appian Way past the Catacombs where alot of tomb remains are.
So I figured I'd tack it onto this post. Regards, Walter
The metro stop for the Aqueduct Park is 5 stops after the Colli Albani metro station which is where you catch the 660 bus to the Catacombs and Appian Way in my directions above.
There are directions in this post http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34736621
And some other info here about aqueducts in Rome.

Go to a Borders or Barnes & Noble and look at the *large* paper fold-out map of Rome (mine is 'ROME' by Freytag & Berndt).
Find the Via Appia Antica (old Appian Way):
You will see S. Sebastiano (catacomb) and then just down the street the Tomb of Cecila Metella and then farther down the street Via C. Metella that is the 'T' in my directions where the 660 bus drops you off.
And then farther down Via Appia Antica you will see tomb ruins on the map listed like black dotted squares/rectangles/circles.
You will come across the 1st tomb listed on the map in 1.5km and the last one at 4.2km.
Then find the 'A' Metro line on the map _._._._.(A)_._. and you will find the Colli Albani metro station and the Giulio Agricola metro station listed in the Aqueduct Park directions in that website along with the street (Viale G. Agricola) you take from the metro station to the Aquaduct Park.
It looks very easy, with the metro tracks behind you and Rome to the right and to the left the direction you were heading on the metro, just walk down that main street ~600m and you are there.
Plus looking at a map will make my directions and the Aqueduct Park directions alot easier.

Thanks for posting the NY Times article
Just one comment on the tomb of Cecelia Metella: On a visit last year, we did not think the interior was particularly worth seeing for the 6 euro pp price. However, it was a combined ticket with the Baths of Caracalla which are much more spectacular (not on the Appian Way but on the archeobus route, near the Circus Maximus at the edge of the Archeological zone)

I just wanted to chime back in and let everyone know that I printed these directions and brought them with me today when I took this trip to the Catacombs and they were SPOT ON!!! Everything he talks about is exactly as he says it. The signs are in the same place and the same color and everything. I can't thank you enough Walter for posting this, it made my life so much easier so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Also, if anyone is teetering as to whether or not you should do this tour, let me tell you that it's amazing. The feeling you get being down in those catacombs is unreal, all the bodies that were buried there and the children, and infants. It's crazy.....Definitely worth the 1euro trip there and 1euro trip back.....
