There are quite a few tour companyies that offer tours of Rome at night- you can just do a search of "tours of rome" and you'll get quite a few hits. Try "romanstrolltours" they have a night tour. Most companies do.

Hi Graziella - All the main tour operators Vastours, Appian, Carrani etc - run 'Rome by Night' tours.
Here are some links:

I used Stefano of Rome Cabs for a private night tour with my mother and sister and was very pleased.

Did I miss something? Graziella asked for info on tours and got some suggestions. Then you seem to dismiss them and say you'll do your usual and hire a cab. Was there something about the tours you didn't like?
We used Angel Tours for a walking tour of the night-lit monuments last January. It lasted about 2 hours; the guide was very informative. We stopped at a wine bar for a prosecco to keep warm. I LOVED walking through the city at night.
