Rome and Venice in April
Planning trip to Rome and Venice mid-April. Weather should be wonderful then in Rome, but what do you think about weather in Venice at that time of year? Would it be(usually) too cold then? any thoughts? thank you

I looked at www.weatherbase.com for Rome and Venice. In April Rome's average low is 47 degrees F or 8C. Whereas Venice's is 46 F or 7C. They average highs of 63F or 17C and 61F or 16C respectively.
In other words the temperatures are basically the same.

Although stats quoted by Mimar show temps in similar range for Venice & Rome, that doesn't include the "feel factor" ..... other elements such as humidity, rainfall, breezes from Adriatic, etc. I've not been to Venice during month of April, however suspect it may seem cooler than how it feels in Rome. As for being 'too cold', well that's pretty subjective.
My suggestion when considering a trip in April is to check calendar for timing of holy week .... for next year (Apr-2012) Palm Sunday is 4/1, Good Friday 4/6, and Easter Sunday 4/8. That may be a time frame to avoid (add'l crowds) .... OR, may be when you'd like to go if a member of the faithful.
