Rome and Paris Questions
I am off to Rome and Paris in MArch. 5th trip to Paris 1st time to Rome.

Have some questions on Rome hotel and flights.

I arrive from ord to cdg on Air France nonstop. My plane arrives 8:50 AM, connecting at cdg to Rome on Airfrance 9:55.
Is that enough time? I will have to get my luggage and check in.

The hotels I was thinking of was Hotel Villa San Pao, Hotel Rivers Palace or Santa Chiara.
Thanks in advance, PJ

We stayed at the Santa Chiara last May and couldn't have been more pleased.

Great location. Direclty behind the Pantheon. If you're not familiar with the area, the Pantheon in direclty between Piaza Navona and the Fountain of Trevi. 10-15 minutes to the Spanish Steps and 15 minutes to the Forum.

The hotel itself was very nice. Would definitely stay there again.
Your connection at deGaulle may be tight. Ask Air France where your arriving and departing gates are in relation to each other. If the airlines offer (as American Airline does) information as to a particular flight's "on-time" record, ask them about your arriving flight. If it's chronically late, you could be in trouble. I'm assuming you'll have to go through customs/immigration. This is usually pretty fast, but lines can be long. Add to all of this any problem in collecting your luggage.... and you'll wish you had another 30 minutes.
If you are basically flying to Rome (thru CDG), you should not have to pick up your luggage and go thru immigration in CDG.

Your luggage should be transferred automatically, and you'll pick it up & go thru immigration & customs in Rome.
pj
another positive vote for the Santa Chiara in Rome, I loved it.

Yes, in Rome I have done walks with Scala Reale and highly recommend them. They are more expensive and have longer walks than those offered by Enjoy Rome which also generates positive feedback.

Scala Reale employs as its guides art and history scholars. The guides I experienced presented a lot of information in an entertaining way.
The organization itself is very well organized and reliable.
You would need to make arrangements before you go.
