themasons, we have more flexibility than you regarding our budget, being a long married couple, so if you can't get a room at the College de France, let's look to see if we can give you our room of which I just got a confirmation from the hotel.

I'll just do some checking to see what other rooms or hotels would be available to us for the nights we need. Deborah

Deborah, we heard from the hotel and just booked a double standard room! Thank you so much for your recommendation, and also for your sweet offer of your reservation if it was booked. I feel very much relieved to know that we have a place to stay, in a nice neighborhood with helpful staff. I am even more excited now!

themasons, That is Great News, I hope the Paris and the neighborhood exceed your expectations and not your budget it's a wonderful city to explore with someone you love.

Paris is a favorite city of many people on Fodors so once you decide how you want to spend your time you'll find all types of help if needed.

Have fun doing your research, we'll have to share a bottle of wine some evening in PARIS Deborah

Themasons -- I don't know where you're looking, but I checked their availability at the Hotel LEveque and they were wide open the last week in September. I'd check again.

Check out Hotel Andrea-de Rivoli. It is very convenient to Notre Dame, Pompiedu, Marais, the Louvre and lots more. It is a little 2* near Hotel de Ville. A double is about 84 euros for a small room. It is clean and was ipdated just a few years ago.
