It's been a lot of years since we were there but we thoroughly enjoyed our experience, the food, people etc.
In Bucharest a stringed orchestra played at breakfast. We ate in outdoor patios where there was a
ice bucket stand of bottled water & wine, plus a basket of bread at the table. When we paid the check the waiter counted the empty bottles and missing rolls and charged accordingly. The missing rolls were replaced and the basket moved to another table.

In Brasov we sure to visit the Black Church. From Brasov we visited other towns within a 60-70 mile radius, as well as Count Dracula's castle.

We were surprised at the number of women who were laboring beside men on the farms and construction sites. They pushed wheel barrows, used shovels, pitched hay etc.

Enjoy

Thanks, KL - it's always nice to know someone is actually reading my reports! Loved both Austria and Romania, although they're quite different.

I wrote a trip report covering Bucharest, Danube Delta (Tulcea) and Brasov here (From Hay Stacks to Water Lillies):

While in Tulcea you must take a trip into the Danube Delta. It's amazing.

Another trip report covering more of Bucharest is here (In Search for the Little Paris):
