Does the Roma Pass include the Vatican?

The Roma Pass does not include the Vatican for at least one simple reason: The Vatican is a separate entity and technically not part of Rome!

Just returned from Rome two weeks ago and wanted to let everybody know that the Roma Pass is great. I used it at Castel Santo Angelo, and again in the Colosseum. And it was great to hop in and out of buses, trams, metros, and even the train from Trastevere Station to the Termini using our pass.

Its good for two museums/attractions and transportation. Which two would you choose in order to maximize the value of the card ??

Well, I definitely AM going to visit these places,

day 1
St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City

Castel S. Angelo

Piazza Navona

Pantheon

Piazza di Spagna

Day 2

The Colosseum

The Roman Forum

The Capitol and the Vittoriano

Fontana De Trevi

While the third day I'll spend daytripping to Pompeii, Sorrento. Do you think it would be a good idea to get this card? Considering I only have 2 days to spend, and guaranteed free entry to TWO sites...

Or should I take this ROMA ARCHEOLOGIA CARD, which I think lasts for 7 days, though it doesn't cover some of the sights I plan to visit.

Any other suggestion?

We bought both the Roma Pass and the Archeo Card. In my opinion, the Roma Pass is far better. It gives more options, and while it supposedly limits to 2 sites (plus discounts), as stated earlier, they seldom mark them. The Archeo Card gives 7 days, but has only a few sites compared to the Roma Pass and no transportation.

As to the public transport, we used the buses alot. We downloaded the PDF map from the ATAC website for the city bus lines and night lines, printed them in color on some tough cardstock and they were fantastic. If you find a bus or subway packed, wait a few minutes for the next one, it was usually about half full.

could you give me the link to the ATAC website please? I suppose you're correct, in the 2 days there, I might be using lots of the public transport, so...

What are the entrance fees to Roman Forum, Colosseum?

We have been looking into the Roma Pass and it sounds great. One question--I know that we still need a reservation for Borghese but do we tell them we will have a Roma Pass so they do not charge us the Borghese fee (just the 2E reservation fee) or how does that work?

Thanks everyone for all the tips on Roma pass unfortunately the internet link doesn't work. Looks like we'll have to buy one when we get there in February!

Our hotel gave it to us as part of the deal for the room. Hotel Ponte Sisto. Check to see if your hotel will do the same. I thought it was helpful but I would not characterize it as "great". But that's just me.
