Where do I catch the Roissy Bus at CDG ? I will arrive at terminal 2E. After going to customs, what next?

It's a good question. The locations are NOT clearly marked at the airport. We wasted a lot of time looking for it. I am an obsessive planner but just assumed we would see signs for it. You don't.

I regretted using it. It took a lot of time. Then when we got to the Opera, the Opera Metro stop was no where to be found, even when we asked locals. It is very hidden. We got into CDG at 7:30 and didn't get to our hotel until after noon. We were exhausted. At that point I was really wishing we had taken the hotel shuttle. It would have been worth it to save time and energy. We lost a half day in Paris.

The Opéra stop was nowhere to be found? It's one of the busiest in Paris! Any Parisien would know where it is. It's not "hidden" in the least. The Roissy bus lets you off about 10 seconds from it. It's got several entrances, but one is right across the street. Unless you're legally blind, it would be hard to miss the huge M sign that indicates the Métro.

Also, at CDG there are large overhead yellow signs that clearly point passengers to the various navettes, including the Roissy Bus. As noted above, it's all very well marked.

This is too late for the OP, but avoid the bus (at least if you're arriving during the morning rush). It. Takes. For. Ever. Even though you may be exhausted and jet lagged, take a few minutes and figure out the train.

or take the airfrance Les Cars bus to Etoile De Gaulle - very expedient and close to the metro

Air France coach is a nice ride, with multiple stops in Central Paris

I think when asking questions about stops etc it is better to use the actual website of the bus, not some other website like slowtrav. Why go to another source, you have no idea if it is accurate or up-to-date. They have a map with the stops marked on the CDG website and info about the bus. Also, the person who said they had trouble finding it was talking about the airport, not the Opera stop (ref above harangue).

Never took it, but I do like the AF bus, it is quick enough to me. I don't know if the Roissybus makes more stops or what, it may be it takes longer just because it lets you off in central Paris.

The Roissybus takes about 40 minutes and can be faster than the RER, particularly as the RER segment between Aulnay sous Bois and CDG is closed on the weekends for track work.

Taxis and Buses now have their own lane along A1 which avoids much of the morning rush hour inconvenience. The Roissybus cuts across the northern part of the city and never enters onto the périphérique (another possible slowdown point).

If you are headed to the area near the Opéra Garnier, I consider the Roissybus the best option unless you can afford a taxi.

Christina ...... "I don't know if the Roissybus makes more stops or what". No it does not ....... straight from the Airport and direct to Opera Garnier. No stops allowed. I have been taking that service for some years now and just continue my journey by city bus. Quite handy for me and priced right at 9.10 Euro.

Maybe we were just unlucky, but we rode it 3 weeks ago and it took over 2 hours to get from CDG to Opera. There's no bus lane on the freeway and the traffic in town was even worse. It WAS entertaining to see the driver get into shouting matches with other drivers. (3 times!)

I've been to Paris many times but this last trip was the first time I used the RER from CDG to Paris and it was so easy. The signs are well marked at the airport, and you can buy a ticket from a person, rather than a machine, if you choose. It's about an hour ride. Of course, you need to know what stop you want so you can choose the right RER, but that is not difficult to determine. I was staying a block away from the Luxembourg gardens, and I got off at the Luxembourg stop, took the escalator up, and had no trouble getting to my apartment.

The only difficulty was when I was going back to the airport, there were no escalators down to the train. Five flights of stairs with my suitcase, but I took it slow, and I didn't even break a sweat. I would never travel any other way between the airport and the city now. About 9 euros each way.

Even though I always take the RER -- because it is the most convenient to where I live -- depending on my destination, I would take the Roissybus or any of the Air France coaches if they got me closer to where I wanted to go, particularly when I have luggage.

we used the bus in june after an early morning arrival and a long flight.
we found it easy and enjoyed the ride in. we walked from the bus stop at opera to our hotel. no problems at all and we would do it again.

I understand that the price for Adults on Roissy is around 9.10 euro. How much are children ages 14 and 11?

Children 4-11 receive 50% ticket discount. A 14 year old travels at the adult fare.
