Robbie Williams in Switzerland - he skis in Zermatt

Robbie wrote a lot of his compositions during his skiing holidays in Zermatt. He was just live on Benissimo, our Saturday entertainment show in Switzerland.

He did a fantastic job entertaining, even though he sang only one song.

Switzerland is totally excited that Robbie Williams is performing a concert in Bern.

What a terrific British export.

I don't think you'll be getting a lot of replies on this one since most Americans have never even heard of THE BIGGEST ROCK STAR IN EUROPE!!!

My poor ignorant darlings..

That's right. We have Robbie Williams and they have Rick Steves.

Who's the opening act? DJ Bobo?

RW hasn't had much success in the U.S. Doesn't say anything about him OR Americans, just different tastes. I like him, but haven't been that keen on his latest release.

Schuler, you do realize that talented tho RW may be, the UK also has gazillions of crap pop "stars" who are nothing more than overhyped karaoke singers, whose "hits" are usually 1980s retreads.

That was good, BTilke!

Looks like Robbies 2006 concert tour is almost sold out.
Americans don't understand huge popularity of Robbie Williams like they don't understand Beckham.

???

Beckham, at least 90% of the time, is a supremely gifted player of the world's most popular game. When he played for Man Utd, I had waiters in Indonesia ask me where London was ("is it near Manchester?&quot

Robbie Williams, OTOH, is a British export Switzerland need feel no pressure at all to return.

He's no Frank Sinatra, but if you buy "Swing when you're winning" !!WHEW!!! that's not only pretty cose but one of the best voices in "pop music" I've ever heared. Buy this album, and tell us what you think about him afterwards.

We'll keep Robbie if you keep the reunion of Take That.

Give me RW over anyone else any day. He is a fabulous entertainer who masters any style of music and unlike many other "pop" stars, writes a lot of his own material.

I tried to get tickets for his European Tour but unfortunately the dates that worked in with our trip were already sold out

Two Robbie Williams concerts are scheduled for next year in Dresden. They were quickly sold out I think. I do not understand the hype, though. Frankly, I admit some of his songs are quite good, but I don't like his attitude (and behaviour).

Robbie Williams had a big single in the U.S. about 5 years ago. I saw him on some award show a couple of years ago. This is completely random, and not that there is anything wrong with it (in the words of Seinfeld), but is he gay? My husband thinks he is, but I thought I read in Vanity Fair or something that he is quite the playboy and that he hooked up with Naomi Campbell (by the way, this month's Vanity Fair has an interesting article about another Brit, the recently tarnished and rehabed Kate Moss).

funny you talk about that. I saw him yesterday on TV and was asked if he is gay. He said he answered "yes" once as a joke to a journalist...
But he almost swore he isn't gay. He even asked the girl who was interviewing him to check if she wanted.
But anyway who cares?
