RIP Frank McCourt

Frank McCourt, who wrote of his impoverished childhood in Limerick, as well as his attempt to assimilate into life in America, passed away today at the age of 78. He had been ill with melanoma and contracted menningitis, which took his life. He immortalized the history of his immediate family in books such as Angela's Ashes and 'Tis.

I'm sad too. met him at Costco when he was there to sign copies of his book, Tis, which I didn't think was as good as Angela's ashes...what a childhood he had!!! Bless his heart.

I was so sad to hear of his passing. Angela's Ashes was a beautifully written memoir.
