reviews of Four Points Euston London and nearby food
Hi. I will be using marriott points to stay at the Four Points by Sheraton, Euston, 8-11 Upper Woburn Place, London WC1H 0JW in mid-September. Previous reviews of the property were atrocious. It seems it was closed and has re-opened. Does anyone have an opinion of how it is now?
Also, any recommendation for nearby foods? I see there's a Marcs and Spencer not too far away, as well as a Pret a Manger. I am looking for a place that is on the quicker side, though not McDonalds. I looked on google and didn't find the few I clicked on appetizing. The other issue is that they don't have refrigerators, and, unless something has changed, Marcs and Spencer tends to run out of sandwiches, and Pret a Manger closes fairly early.
Thanks!

You will not go hungry -- there are probably 100 cafes and restaurants with in walking distance. Heck -- just inside St Pancras station alone there are probably 30 or more between restaurants, pubs and 'grab & go like M&S etc. Kings Cross right next door has a bunch more. And a bit farther walk into the Coal Yards is a foodie haven.
But why are you staying there if the reviews are so dire?? There are many Marriott properties in London. (though I can't imagine its that bad)

Agree there are loads of places to get food, either to sit down or buy something to take with you. For a nicer area than along Euston Rd, walk towards Russell Square tube station. Brunswick Centre has a Waitrose, Gails Bakery for coffee or a pastry, etc. Marchmont St is lined with cafes and small restaurants, Lebanese, pizza, etc. Pubs too, for meals.

Anywhwere that has students there will be a pleathora of cheap places to eat and drink. that area is home to two of Londons biggest Universities , LSE and UCL with literally thousands of students living in the area. KayF above has listed some great options. Gails sandwiches and cakes are amazing but incredibly expensive. if you really want just a sandwich download the "Too Good to Go" app and you can buy heavily discount cakes and sandwiches. We do it quite often and usually get at least £15 worth of goodies for £3-4. Many food outlets are on the App including Gails, Ore, Pret and Greggs . you just order and pay and collect at the appropriate time usually around 7pm but sometimes at lunch time.
I would steer clear of the station food outlets at Kings X and Euston as they are expensive and not very good. Five Guys have an outlet near KX and are way superior to McD. Also, there are several Greene King pubs in the area which offer reasonably good pub grub at competitive prices.
