I stayed at La Residenza the end of October, our third time there. We walked everywhere except to St. Peter's. True, the breakfast is really good, the location is fine, and the staff is great. Room is average but comfortable. It is an easy walk to the Borghese Gallery and also to Santa Maria Vittoria, where Bernini's wonderful St. Theresa in Ecstasy is located...something we never miss when in Rome.

Since this original post, I discovered on this forum www.reservationitaly.com which has unbeatable rates on some Rome hotels, including the Ponte Sisto whick is located where I want to be. I booked three rooms (two doubles for single use and one double) through them at an average cost of 127 Euros per room per night.
