We are staying at the Hilton Paris (Arc de Triomphe), metro stop Courcelles. Any suggestions for good but reasonable restaurants near that area?

Also, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary and would love any suggestions on a romantic restaurant for that evening. Is it too touristy to have dinner or lunch at the Eiffel Tower?

There are 4 reestaurants in the Tour. 2 cafeteria style which probably are crowded. The Jules Verne which can be very expensive. I can't remember the new name for the one that used to be called Altitude 95. That is moderately priced and not touristy. If you want Jules Verne for a special occasion, make your reservations early!

Sorry there are lots of cafes and bistros around the Arc. We just usually pick one that looks likely, have not made notes on the names

If you want to go to the Eiffel tower, you will need to book early.

There are a couple of other restaurantsd with views get mentionned here: Ciel de Paris (Tour Montparnasse), Cafe de l'Homme and Chez Francis.

You might investigate Taillevent, often regarded as one of the best in the world. 17 rue Lammenais Paris 75008. Just a few blocks east north east from the Arc, off Ave. Friedland. The neighborhood looks prosperous, but nondescript. The restaurant occupies a former foreign embassy. There are no views.

There are several nice places if you go AWAY from the Arc in the direction of Villiers. Alternately, there are some nice places on avenue de la Grande Armée, BEHIND the Arc.

You have realized by now, I hope, that the Hilton Arc de Triomphe is not very close to the Arc de Triomphe at all. It is just a product of creative hotel naming.

As Kerouac has noted, Courcelles metro stop is not all that close to the Arc de Triomphe.

A very romantic daytime option would be the tea salon at the Jacquemart-André Museum for Brunch, lunch or afternoon tea. It is within walking distance or you can take a taxi or use the metro (closest stop: Miromesnil; signs as you "surface" head you in the right direction)

If you want to watch the Eiffel at night, Chez Francis cannot be beat.

we love a place called Citrus Etoile right off the Arc de Triomphe & the Champs Elysee. It is owned by Gilles Epie and his American wife. Small, cozy & cheery place; we did a three course prix fixe dinner and it was some of the most tender beef I have ever had and the souffle for dessert was terrific, both chocolate & strawberry. Can book a table on line.

Courselles has little to offer; if you are willing to venture over to the Ternes area there are many choices. It's not a long walk.

A second vote for Chez Francis just for the outstanding view - I have not eaten there but I bet the food is very very good.

The Citrus Etoile is Perfect

Located in Champs Elysées is rather big, of good taste and contemporary. The reception and the service is warm and very pro. The kitchen is divine and very creative, we have pass a wonderful meal and it was full.
