Restaurants in Florence

We'll be spending this Memorial Day weekend in Florence and I was wondering if anybody out there had a special restaurant recommendation.

Thanks!

We really liked Cibreo, and though we haven't been to Florence for a few years an friend was recently there and said it was still super.Sorry I don't have address handy, maybe another fodorite can come up with it.

Hi Wendi,
I hope you get this info prior to departure.

The 2 places I always recommend are Il Cavallino & Da Noi.

Il Cavallino is located at 4 Via Delle Farine. They have good food & outstanding service, to the degree I asked to meet the "padrone" to compliment him. He was a kindly older gentlman.

Da Noi is located at 46 Via Fiesolana & is small, so a reservation call might be in order.

Have a great time!
Kathy

We were there a few weeks ago and were very happy with the restaurants listed in Time Out's online guide. There is one, the (something) d'Oro which does historical food--very unusual and delicious dishes from the renaissance period. Check out www.timeout.co.uk for more info.

If you don't want to spend the money for Cibreo go to Cafe Cibreo next door for lunch. Wonderful food, reasonable prices. Il Latini is a fun place where you sit at communal tables, etc. The food is simple but good Tuscan fare.

Good evening, Wendi
Here are three recommendations for Florence. would possibly suggest reservations.
1. CANTINETTA ANTINORI, Palazzo Antinori, 3 $$$$ excellant foods and own
wines, located about block south of SMN
Railway station.
2. MAMMA GINA, Borgo S. Jacopo, 37r $$$
excellant meats and fish, typ. tuscany.
located just over south end of Ponte
Vecchio, turn right into first street
and down about half block on left.
3.CELESTINO, Pza. S. Felicita, 4r $$$
excellant local meat dishes, located
just over south end of Ponte Vecchio
located in small square to left...
Would also say that ristorantes are
almost full by 730PM
Richard of LaGrange Park, Il..
