Restaurants in Bucharest

We are interested in some restaurant recommendations in Bucharest. Since we've never been to Romania, we would also appreciate food tips. What do they do best.

Don't know Bucharest, but Romanian food in general is pretty meat and cabbage oriented - at least it was in the Transylvania region. Sarmale is a well known dish - meatballs rolled in grape or softened cabbage leaves, with sour cream. Also mititei, a spicy fried sausage

I will wager a guess that Bucharest may offer more international choices than the towns and villages that we visited further north.

Oh, and almost forgot, but if you're not opposed to a fiery shot of liquor, the tuica, (too-EE-cha) is a unique Romanian plum brandy that's very good, I thought, but potent (tuica, his own though).
