Restaurants in Bruges

My husband and I love Bruges. We go there every chance we get. But, I just wanted to recommend our favorite restaurant. It's Simon Stevin, on the Simon Stevin Plein. Our favorite dishes, by far, are the two monkfish dishes. One is with leek sauce, and the other with black pepper sauce. The salmon is good and my husband likes the mussels, but each time one of us gets the monkfish and the other gets something else. Who ever does not get the monkfish spends most of the time figuring out how to steal more of it from the other's plate.

Cindy, thanks for posting. We will be in Bruges at the end of June and I will take your suggestion with me!

Cindy, we will be in Bruges in June also and will definitely try this restaurant. My husband loves monkfish and rarely finds it on any menu, as we live in Texas and not close to the coast. Thank you for your recommendation.

I don't know that I have ever had monkfish, even though we live on the east coast of Florida. Is it comparable to any other kinds of fish?

wren,
monkfish are really ugly and they say they have the texture of lobster. I have had them in the past and have had monkfish in chowder in NY.
I think it tastes pretty good..just don't look at them LOL
