Ok, I misinterpreted your "3-4 night stay in St.PdeV" as time spent there rather than driving out and around. No rental car for us this time, so we'll stay in Nice and train/bus/taxi over there, stopping at Vence proper on the way back for a day. Can only spend 3-4 nts total this time. Thx-

I use the app a lot in Paris for reservations. It works well. I’ve never had a problem. One time a restaurant cancelled at the last minute but that was because they their electricity went out and they had to close for the evening.

I love Fodors but for great restaurant advice check out hungryonion.org. All the experts on Chowhound Paris are migrating over there. Chowhound is closing down this month.

I joined awhile ago and use their SF Bay Area boards since we have an apt/family there. Parnassien is there as parnparis and lots of other Paris names I recognize from CH. Someone has also contacted John Talbott (he has returned to US). I use my actual name Annegrace-I was macdog on CH. Joined all these sites long ago when we had our beloved wheaten terrier Mac. I just hope I can get back to Paris at some point! But until then we have fabulous food and restaurants in Santa Barbara. I know you have given me lots of good advice on our travels in Spain in previous years and I really appreciate it.

I’m so glad that Parnassian is there, as he is a walking encyclopedia of Paris dining! Chowhound actually shuts down on March 21.
