SAB,
Form the restaurants that I posted above, if you prefer traditional Greek cuisine, I would recommend Athinaikon and Aegli.
Here are more options :
Melilotos ( in the top centre of Athens - Monastiraki)
Kalamiotou 19 - 210 3222458
One of the restaurants with the best food in the centre of Athens. Small, with tables outside in a pedestrianized street.

Benaki Museum - Syntagma Square/Kolonaki
Koumbari 1 , 210 3671000
The Museum has an excellent restaurant with classic Greek food and a veranda with great view !
You don't have to pay entrance to the museum, to visit the restaurant.

Another museum cafe is the one in New Acropolis Musueum... one floor up, a terrace in fine weather and also glass-enclosed part with A.C., looking right up at the Parthenon. You don't have to pay museum entrance to visit the cafe ... and the prices, for light meals, very reasonable. (€6-10 for salads or sandwiches).

Thank you clausar!!! We went to Mani Mani twice, Alhiri and Melilotos--they were fabulous, especially Mani Mani!!
We also had lunches at the Benaki and the Acropolis Museum. OK, not in same class as others.
