Restaurant @Musee D'Orsay

I saw on this site that the restaurant at the Musee D'Orsay is open til' 9.45pm on Thursdays. Has anyone eaten there? Do they have a children's menu or some simple dishes that would appeal to a child with a limited palate (i'm doing my best to remedy this with a modicum of success)

Thankyou.

I've eaten there often when I had taken groups of my teenage students there and they liked it a lot. They have a cold buffet with cold salads and fruits etc.. then they usually have a good menu of fish and cheese. I have not seen a children's menu.

I've eaten there several times. It's a fun experience. As Wendy said, there's a buffet with a variety of dishes; there's also a regular (but limited) menu that does have some simple dishes on it. Your kids will almost certainly like the chocolate cake!
My advice is to follow the other Americans and eat there early. The restaurant fills up VERY fast and getting there early improves your chances of getting one of the nice window tables and of having a relaxing meal without a long wait in line.
Also, check your bill closely before you leave. Three times I've found significant errors. Two of them were actually in my favor (which I did point out), but still...I don't think it's intentional, it's just that the staff can get rather harried during peak periods.
BTilke

I forgot to say that the dining is beautiful belle epoque...not stuffy, but it IS lovely! The views over the Seine to the Louvre are wonderful...I'd make a reservation as soon as you can for the window seats...it is a fun experience as BTILKE said....

Wendy, I had no idea you could make reservations for one of the window tables. What number do you call? I always went for the earlybird approach to get a window table.
The belle epoque setting is gorgeous (I believe it was the ballroom in a hotel at one time, as I recall). A friend once took some black and white photos there that came out terrific (he was showing them around in a bar and someone from an ad agency came over and offered $500 for it to use in a campaign).
BTilke

The number is unpublished, but it is on my receipt. Would you like it? Feel free to e-mail me directly.

I BET those photographs turned out fabulous! For a place called 'the city of light' is certainly looks wonderful in black and white, n'est-ce pas?
Amber,
Look through this month's Bon Appetit. It's all about eating in Paris, and I thought I saw something on the Musee D'Orsay.

a phone number for the Musee d'Orsay restaurant is located right on their web site, as well as an email address. Just go to the cafe/restaurant section of the site.
