Restaurant for last night in Paris
L'Oulette, La Gaigne, Le Pave, Bofinger, Mon Vieil Ami are all restaurants we are considering for our last dinner in Paris in two days. they are allin the 4th. We are open to others nearby. We ate at Le Petit Pontoise and La Ferrandaise and Le Reminet and loved them.

When did you eat at Le Reminent???
I ate there about 4-5 years ago and thought it was wonderful. Many have reported here that the restaurant was sold and the food was now inedible.
I was in Paris this past November and thought about going back but was conscious of the bad reviews so I dined elsewhere.

Hi, fighting jet lag after getting back very late night before last. We ate at Mon Veill Ami and enjoyed it very much. The room is small and quite dark with one enormous glass vase about 5 feet tall sprouting flowers practically into the ceiling. Quite striking. Their menus were 41 euros and while this is the only place I did not write down a complete description of all our dishes, I can tell you that we thought the food pretty exceptional. My first course, for instance, we a coccotte with shreds of apple and radish and slices of potato with a great mustardy dressing topped by two nice sized pieces of skate, perfectly done.
I'd read a lot of good things about the place before going and was certainly not disappointed. In fact among 26 meals we had on this trip, I'd certainly put Mon Veill Ami among the top 5.
I'd stop by the bar at Bofinger on the way to someplace else for dinner and have a peek at the wonderful decor, but I'd not waste another meal there. Enjoy your last meal in Paris. We did--Josephine Chez Dumonet. Excellent herring in oil, duck confit and cassoulet. Not a weightwatcher to be sure, but quintessentially old Paris.
