Rest. suggestions outside Paris
Suggestions would be appreciated for Honfleur, Le Mont-St-Michel (not Mere Poulard). Is it worth the drive to Etretat to eat at Les Roches Blanches? And in Chartres for only a lunch: Vieille Maison or Le Buisson Ardent or La Truie que File? Also in Trouville-Sur-Mer how about Les Vapeurs? Many thanks for your thoughts.

Hi Wendy

We had a great lunch in Chartres at the restaurant just to the right of the cathedral as you're facing it. I think the name was Serpente. Had read about it on this forum. Somebody in the kitchen there really cares about food.

Oh please tell us all about your trip when you return.

Bon appetit et bon voyage

Wendy:

In Honfleur, the best, and certainly most expensive, place to eat is at the Ferme St-Siméon, on the terrace if possible. This is where the Impressionist painters used to gather when they were in the area, and the setting, service, and food are exquisite.
Also in Honfleur, but at the other end of the price spectrum (as in really inexpensive) is Le Champlain, 6 place Hamelin. We've also enjoyed La Tortue, 36, rue de l'homme-de-Bois.
