Reserving tickets to Plitvice Lakes is turning into a horrible experience
I've been reading about the new on line ticket system. I was concerned about the fact that if you reserve tickets but somehow manage to miss your 'window' of one hour to pick them up that you are screwed so I emailed them and they said that yes, if you miss your window you are out of luck, even if you pay for two day tickets you still can't even enter on the second day. Decided I'd go ahead and book anyway. Gone to the website numerous times. Sometimes they only have 'student' tickets listed regardless of the date and time put in. Other times there seemed to be normal selection of tickets. Then I just tried again now and get this screen that says you have to click 'allow notifications' to prove you are not a robot. That leads to wanting me to download a new version of adobe flash. Seems totally bizarre just to buy some tickets. Anyone else had this kind of experience?

Isabel, I just logged on to the Plitvice website and I, too, get the screen that says click on "Allow" if you are not a robot. However, I did order my tickets for September a week ago, and I did not get that screen at that time. Could it be something new the park has instituted? Or could it be a virus?? Anyways, I did not click "allow" just now. Maybe you should email or call the park and ask them about this.
The only "problem" I had when I ordered my tickets is that I did not hear from the park right away. After waiting for several days, I emailed them to ask about my voucher, which they then sent to me immediately. They seem to be very responsive to emails.
Regarding having the one-hour window and risking missing your window: I ordered my tickets for 4PM. We are staying overnight at Plitvice Miric Inn, and plan to visit the next morning, too. So I ordered the two-days tickets. We will be driving from Split, which takes 3 - 4 hours. So our plan is to leave for Plitvice in the morning when we check out of our Split hotel. I assume if we leave Split at 10AM, we should be at Plitvice by 2PM, or maybe 3PM the latest, if we hit traffic. So if we arrive at our hotel before 3:30 (which is when we can pick up our tickets), we will just hang out at the hotel. I'd rather do that than risk being late picking up our tickets.

Just purchased tickets online, also visiting Plitvice this September. I didn't face any major issues (I'm using the latest Microsoft Edge browser), but I did notice that after completing payment/checkout, the final landing page is confusing. You need to scroll down to find three tabs (many users very likely to miss seeing these) - two in Croatian and one in English. The Croatian tabs allow you to download an invoice and the tickets/voucher, and the English tab triggers an email to your account (I haven't received the email yet, but downloaded the prior 2 attachments and saved a screenshot of this page for any future reference/followup.

Yes the site is now working, much different from when it was hacked. Even before it was hacked though some days (far in the future) it would say only student tickets available, then the following day (for the same future date) there would be regular ones as well.
Since it's working at the moment I booked my tickets and did receive a receipt and email of the tickets right away so that part is working great. What I neglected to notice is that there is a tab part way through the ordering process that switches from Entrance 1 to Entrance 2 and I didn't notice it so bought tickets to Entrance 1 when I really want entrance 2. It looks like they are only 5 minutes apart. Can anyone confirm this. Does it make much difference which entrance you enter?

Isabel, I am happy for you that you were finally able to buy your tickets for Plitvice. When I ordered my tickets, I inadvertently ordered them for Entrance 1, but I wanted Entrance 2 because we are staying at the Plitvice Miric Inn, which is closest to Entrance 2. I emailed the park and asked them if I could switch to Entrance 2. Within a day, I heard back from them, and they sent me a revised voucher for Entrance 2. So you can certainly do that if you wish.
Regarding the difference between which entrance you enter the park, I guess that depends on where you are staying. If you are staying closer to Entrance 2, it might be worth it to change your voucher. Or it might depend on which lakes you want to see first. I am looking at the Plitvice map right now. Entrance 1 is by the Lower Lakes, and Entrance 2 is by the Upper Lakes.
One other point I would like to make, and this might be obvious to some people. We have friends who just returned from Croatia. They purchased the 2-day tickets entering through Entrance 2, which is what we have purchased. On the first day, they entered through Entrance 2 to see the Upper Lakes. The next morning they drove to Entrance 1 because it's closer to the Lower Lakes, and they wanted to avoid the 20-minute boat ride across Lake Kozjak. Well, they weren't allowed to enter through Entrance 1 on their ticket because that ticket is only for Entrance 2, regardless of which lake they were going to. Because they felt pressed for time, they decided to purchase new tickets for Entrance 1 so they wouldn't have to backtrack. So if you are staying overnight, and plan to go late afternoon and then the next morning, make sure you enter at the same entrance each time. I really hadn't given any thought to this.

I'm glad you were able to get your tickets switched. I have the exact same problem, didn't see the "Entrance 1" tab so bought those when we want Entrance 2 as we are also staying at a hotel at entrance 2. I emailed them within five minutes of buying the tickets - now it's been two days but haven't heard back. Hopefully they are just slow.

I am confused as to which day and time to purchase our ticket on the Plitvice online system. We are staying 2 nights at Hotel Jezero, which is within the park. We arrive September 4, will hike the park September 5, and leave September 6. Do we buy our ticket for the day of arrival or the day we plan to hike? If we buy the day of arrival, do we have to purchase a 2 day ticket? I have emailed both the hotel and the park but wondered if anyone on this forum would know. Thank you.

If you hike over two days like this, there's really no need to spend two nights there. There's not much of a town to speak of at or near the park, so there's nothing to do at night and not much in the way of restaurants, unless you want to drive a bit. Personally, I'd rather be in a more lively town at night on vacation. One night at Plitvice is fine; for a second I'd probably be bored.
One big benefit (in my view) of staying at the overpriced park hotels is to be able to hike a second day without buying another ticket. When I stayed at one years ago, before the reservation system, the hotel would just stamp your ticket for the second day. How does that work now with the reservation system? Their website indicates that they still do this.
If you don't hear back by email, personally I would just call the hotel front desk and ask. Almost certainly, you'll get an English speaker. Sometimes it's just easier to call and ask your questions by speaking.

Kja - good to hear that you liked entrance 1. I'm having a hard time figuring out which areas of the park to concentrate on - maybe they are all wonderful but usually I have more of a sense of what I'm doing. I see all the gorgeous photos on line, I see maps with walks, but no where do I see which walks see which views.
So maybe I won't bother trying to get my entrance changed (reserved Entrance1 while I intended to do Entrance 2 - did not see the little tab on the website you needed to toggle to the other entrance). Staying at Hotel Bellevue at Entrance 2. Does anyone know if parking at Entrance 1 at 4pm will be difficult, or if we parked at the Hotel if there is a bus over to Entrance1 (will at that point only have the tickets printed off their website)?

One of the things that makes this park so special is that the lakes are all different, and of course, they differ with the weather and light as well.
If you start at entrance 1, you are facing the falls as you walk, which was important to me.

Entrance 1 is 5 minutes up the road from entrance 2. I wouldn’t worry about the distance between the 2. Kja is correct in that entrance 1 takes you directly to the falls that you generally see in photos or ads. Never thought about facing the falls, that’s interesting. I found the people via email very responsive answering within a few hours. I had to change the time and then the date and had no trouble. This was last month,

You see this within minutes through Entrance 1.

Thanks for the info. So what's the best way to get from the Hotel Bellevue (entrance 2) to Entrance 1. Drive (how's the parking situation at Entrance 1 around 4pm?) or is there a bus (if so how frequent)?
It's been four days now since I bought the tickets - and immediately emailed them asking for the change of entrance - but no response.

We were there at opening time so can’t address the parking at 4 pm. There were several hundred spaces at entrance 1. I saw bus stops on the road, so gather a bus goes along it. Sorry they haven’t gotten back to you. Like I posted I contacted them 2 separate times and they responded within hours.
