reserved tickets for Ufizzi?

I was told about being a reserved ticket for the Ufizzi. Anyone know how to purchase? Any other museums in Italy that offer reserved tickets?

There are websights where you can order tickets. The charge brings the ticket price to double the admission fee. The Uffizi takes reservations for about a dollar more than the regular cost of a ticket. Call 055-294-883, Mon-Fri 8:30-18:30., Sat 9:00-12:00. Choose a time, leave your name and get a 15-minute entry window and a five digit confirmation number. When you arrive walk to the special entrance for reservations, give your name and number and pay cash. I got the information out of one of the four thousand (it seems) guide books I have purchased.

Bob,

Go to the Ufizzi at the end of the day (around 5:00) and you'll have no problem getting in. I was there Holy Week and the waiting lines without reservations were 2-1/2 to 3 hours long in the morning but we waited only about 20 minutes at 5:30. The closer to dinner time the shorter the lines became. Check the current closing times...when we were there the museum was open until 10:00 for the holiday (Florence was packed with school groups).
I just tried the phone number indicated by C Sheen and had to wait for a few minutes. I then got a very helfpul (and multilingual) lady who gave me a reservation number and useful indications. We shall check on site in August !

Just back from 2 weeks in Tuscany. We went to Florence several times and made reservations for the Uffizi, the Galleria dell'Accademia (David), the Pitti Palace, the Bargello and more by calling 055-294883 in Italy. You just need to call a day or 2 in advance, they speak English, give you a time and a reservation number, there is no charge and you go right in! Sometimes there is a separate entrance door for reservation holders. It's fantastic and I highly recommend it!!! Don't miss the Museo del Bargello, it's a sculpture museum in Florence that is absolutely beautiful. Have a great trip!

Hi. Yes, phoning ahead for tickets is easy. I ordered mine in advance on the website because I only had a day and a half in Florence and didn't want to waste any time!
You may want to try:
http://www.weekendafirenze.com/musei.htm
It does increase the cost, but the convenience was worth it to me. Includes Ufizzi and Accademia and others.
Good luck...and have fun!
There is also an office at the main train terminal in Florence where you can reserve tickets for the museums. If you are arriving by train or find yourself near the train station, it is an incredibly easy process. We made our reservation one day in advance and were thrilled when we had absolutely no wait at the Ufizzi...unlike the hundreds of people standing outside who appeared to have been there since before dawn.

Just back from Florence. We were at the door at 8.50am and still had to wait over 2 hours. What ever happens book a ticket. I dont know where you can book, but our hotel nearly died when we told them that we waited so long. They said they would have booked tickets for us had we asked. Ignorance is bliss !!!!
