Reservations @ the Jules Verne

Tried to book our reservations for late November thru Reservethebest.com (which I learned from this sight) - sent the request 5 days ago and have heard nothing. Now today when I went to send a 2nd request - I learned they (Reservethebest.com ) are going to be "closed" from 81-8/31. Anyone have a different suggestion - I hear they're already booked thru the first part of NOv for dinner.

P.S. I also called the rtb phone # and left a msg.

Hello, Merri and Karen! It took about 3 days to receive a return e-mail from reservethebest.com. They were very gracious in telling me that they were booked for dinner, but suggested lunch. I'm waiting to hear about reservations for that now.

They did recommend 3 restaurants for which they can help with dinner reservations. They are Apicius, Amphycles and Zyriab (saying that Zyriab has one of the best views in Paris). I have not read postings on this site about any of these. Am wondering if anyone has had experiences with any of them.

Did you try booking through the Eiffel Tower web site to the restaurant. www.tour-eiffel.fr? Go to the practical information and follow it through to the restaurants and then use the email to send it in.

We eat there about once a year. I just call their phone number during their hours of about 11:30A to 8:00P. There is always someone around who speaks English. The phone is 45-55-61-44 (from Paris). I really like having lunch there because of the view during the day. Also , I usually make two reservations on different days, using 2 different names (mine and my husband's, which are different). That way I have a "rain date " if the weather is bad. Of course, I cancel the unused reservation. Have a good trip!
"Reservethe best" came through for us but it was the phone call they responded to - never heard back from the e-mail. One important note - Reservethe best.com will be CLOSED from 8/1/00 through 8/31/00 and unavailable for any kind of reservations !! Thanks for all the advice (I did find the direct # on the Eiffel site which was going to be my next move - can provide the # if anyone else needs it).

I e-mailed our hotel and asked them to make a reservation for us at Jules Verne. They responded the next day. You could e-mail or fax your hotel with a list of reservations requests.

Pam

I faxed a request for reservation for July, they responded - all booked up. During the time we were waiting for a response, we called them directly (took 2 phone calls to get a live person), and low and behold - a reservation for lunch was had - Voila! Ask for a table by the window.
