Reservations for Uffizi and Academia??

I called and made reservations for the two galleries in Florence directly with the musuem. She took my last namd and gave me a reservation #. Before I knew it we had hung up and I had not paid? Is this correct? Do we pick up tickets and pay when we check in?
I made our Uffizi reservation for 8.30 am. does anyone know if we will be ahead of the bus tours? Thanks.
Thanks

I can tell you about Uffizi:
Yes, you don't pay until you show up at the museum. At 8:30a, I doubt the tour groups will be there yet. When you get to Uffizi, you'll find 2 lines - 1 for general admission, 1 for people with reservations. Go to the reservation line and tell them your #, they will ask you for $ then. However, they do charge a surcharge for the reservation (maybe €3) on top of the ticket.

If there is no line for the general admission when you get there, you can go via that line and get a regular ticket without using your reservation. That way, you don't have to pay for the reservation fee.

There are also two lines at the Academia. One for reservations, the other for general admission. We made reservations over the phone also, and they had us pay after we entered. We didn't pay anything extra for the reservation at the Academia, but we paid 3Euro extra at the Uffizi. Make sure you have your reservation # with you for both musuems.

BTW, even though Uffizi's website states that the reservation fee is € 1,55, it is actually €3. I thought that was rather hefty as the admission fee to the museum is only €8. But if that saves you standing in a long line, that is worth it.

No credit cards for either museum. They were both 12,50 euros with reservation as of two weeks ago. The line for reservations was actually across the street from the entrance.

We ad reservations at the Uffizi and Galleria de'Accademia and thank god we did! The lines were over 3 hours long at both and we walked right in. Make sure you go in the "single" lane and not the groups in the reservation section. For 2 of us, the total was 25 euro/museum with the reservation cost and totally worth every penny!. You need cash and will pay only once you enter.
