We're staying at the Courtyard Paris Neuilly. I was thinking we'd take the RER to Chatelet and change to the Metro to get to our hotel. But now I wonder if it's worth it to the take the AirFrance bus, since we'll have our three kids and my dad in tow, along with our luggage.

In the past, my husband and I traveled together to Paris and took the RER, which was no big deal. But I'm a little nervous with the kids.

Does anyone have any advice? If we take the AirFrance bus, does that go straight to the hotel?

Air France bus will run about 65 euro for 6 people. It will not take you directly to your hotel so you'll have to either find a taxi van or rely on public transport.

You can get a 6 person private car shuttle from Shuttle-Inter for 85 euro. They'll meet you at the exit with a sign with your name.

The Air France bus doesn't go straight to ANY hotels....there are set routes and I'll try to paste in the link here..the busses go to set stop-off points....sometimes you may be lucky and be staying close to one of those points.

You might consider taking a taxi which would obviously eliminate any nervousness about the children, the luggage, getting right to the DOOR of the hotel, etc.

With that many people and luggage a shuttle makes the most sense. They will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. And probably cost less.

You could take AF to Etoile, then Metro to Sablons. Bit of a walk to hotel. Your hotel between Metro lines.

Shuttle is another choice. There is a current thread that recommends some companies

We used www.shuttle-inter.com as avalon mentioned and were very pleased.

For six people, I'd definitely arrange a private car/van service such as those recommended on this and similar threads here. Search using "CDG" and "shuttle" for lots of info.

Once again, I'm so glad I posted this query on this forum. Trying to take the Metro from the airport to our hotel would have been a nightmare! We were tired, and the hotel was about a 10-minute walk from the Metro stop.

Your hotel is in a VERY out-of-the-way location. I know because my friend lives about two blocks from your hotel and she has taken me to eat breakfast there.

We chose the hotel because of the space we could get. My husband used his Marriott points to get us two adjoining rooms. We were traveling with three children and my 70-year-old dad, and we needed some space. And we didn't want to pay a lot for a hotel since we didn't plan to do much more than sleep there.

Frankly, I didn't find it to be so far out. Once we figured out were the Metro stop was, the walk was nothing. We found a boulangerie on the way and would stop for a pastry in the morning, or step into McDonald's by the Metro. It was an easy ride to the center of Paris.

This worked well for a family. And I find that when you're traveling with kids, it's good sometimes to be a little off the beaten path. It's easier to unwind. And I actually liked that it was away from touristy stuff.

I know not everyone would agree, but it's what works for us.
