Reprint RENFE ticket? How?

I bought a train ticket on renfe.es website. At the end of the transaction, it had a place to let me print the ticket but my browser crashed.

I could not find a way for me to go back in and reprint my ticket.

Is there a way to do the reprinting?

If not, can I go to the train station in spain and get a replacement ticket?

Thanks.

Hi L,

Do you have any info about the ticket, such as a confirmation number or anything els that would show that you had bough a ticket?

You'll need the confirmation number, the "Localizador", or the ticket number in order to print the ticket, or pick one up at the Renfe ticket office.

Depending on which browser you were using, and since it crashed it sounds like you are using a Windows based machine, you will have a history, or "Go" menu that will take you back to the page you were on when the browser crashed. You should be able to recover the exact page.

Yes, if you can retrieve the locator number you can reprint or retrieve your ticket from a machine at a Renfe station in Madrid or an agent can do this for you at the Renfe counter in T1 or T4 at Madrid's airport.

I donīt know if it would work. If you already had a username, you would be able to log into Renfe, retrieve your tickets and reprint them.

They say now that you must print the tickets beforehand when you buy them via internet.

I live near Chamartin station, so I could drop by tomorrow evening and ask what would happen.

Bye, Cova

liablo,
Again, with that localizer number, if you have it, you should be able to go to an auto check in machine and introduce your number to retrieve your ticket, since printed pdf file tickets do get lost.

I remember that yk posted in her wonderfully detailed trip report that she was able to retrieve a Renfe ticket via the self-service machine in Sevilla with her email print out & localizer number. Did you receive an email from Renfe after your purchase?

Yes, you should receive an email from Renfe for confirmation of your ticket purchase. Just print out the email (it has your localizer # on it); then go to the REnfe train station and use the self-service kiosk to reprint your ticket. I don't believe you can reprint one on your home printer.

liablo,
If you do have that all important localizer number and don't want to wait to retrieve tickets until you reach the station, you can do this upon your arrival at Barajas airport (if you're flying into Barajas, that is) at the Renfe counter.
There's a counter in T1 (downstairs arrivals hall next to the Lost & Found) and another in T4. But their hours are 8 am-3 pm, Mon.-Fri. Just give your localizer number to the agent and the c.c. you used to make the purchase, and the agent should be able to give you new tickets.

hi everyone. thanks for the kind help.

I was able to get clarification from renfe customer service. As long as you have a locator, you can reprint your ticket from their website anytime.

Below is their response which I validated and used to reprint my ticket.

-----------------------------------
Dear customer,

We are answering your e-mails dated

Regarding the tickets, once you've finished the purchase the system will
ask you to print the ticktets, downloading a pdf file (you can save it for later). You can also print the tickets in some stations using an auto
check-in machine. If the browser gaves you an error before printing the
tickets, you have to:

1.Going to the main page www.renfe.es and click on changes and refunds.

2.In the following page, you will see a yellow block at the bottom left,
where are some options and the last one, is "my journeys".Click there.

3.The system will ask you for some information ( locator, date, mail ), fill it.

4.And then you will have now, your ticket with a button "print tickets".

These are the steps to follow.

If you need further information don't hesitate contact us.

Kind regards,

liablo,
Glad to know you were able to reprint them! I had done this clicking on "changes and refunds" when I needed to reprint a ticket, but changing it from a full fare to WEB fare, but I wasn't sure about your case. Now we know!

What I usually do is, once I have got the PDF file, I save it on my hard disk. Just in case I donīt remember my locator or the password for my Renfe user.

Bye, Cova
