Renting a villa or apartment in Tuscany

Myself , my husband, my parents and our 2 children ages 10 to 12 (6 people total) want to rent a villa or apartment in tuscany for a week in July this summer. any suggestions on companies to rent from or villas specific? We also might want one that comes with a cook or a cook optional. Also, we want one with a pool. Thanks so much!

www.slowtrav.com is a good place to start your search.

My wife and I stayed in the Melograna apartment at Il Palagio near Panzano and we loved it. We rented it through Tuscan Enterprises (www.tuscanenterprise.it - click on villa index, type Il Palagio in the space for house name and click GO) and we had no problems with the entire renting process. Panzano is a small village midway between Florence and Sienna on the chianti highway and the villa has wonderful views of the chianti countryside from the terraces. Apartments Tottolo or Torre di Totto should work for you as they are 3 bedroom 2 bath. The villa has a nice pool and a certified cook can be provided. Maid service is provided and they can arrange a variety of things if you want (we had them arrange a private winery tour). It might be a little late to reserve something for July but I would recommend Il Palagio as a villa you should put on your list.

We stayed in Il Poggolio in San Quirico: http://www.poggiolo.info/ Look at our review on Tripadvisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...y.html#REVIEWS
I think they would have an apartment to accommodate your needs and there is a pool. There is not a cook, but kitchens.

Hi; This is a good web site to explore. www.villavacations.com Very important for July is to have AIR Conditioning. Another company is www.parkervillas.com Both are US companies. Also www.tuscanynow.com The last two companies will send extensive information when requested. iris1745/dick

It might be difficult to find availability in Tuscany in July now. So don't delay. If the Slow Travel site overwhelms you, look at the agencies people there like and call one or more of them. And do call them, not email. They know what's available and can save you a lot of time.

We had a good experience with Cuendet: www6.cuendet.it
