Visiting Provence
I am visiting Provence at the beginning of June,2014. Looking forward to enjoy lavender blooming. I want to have time to walk around, enjoy wine tasting and have time for myself. Looking for a B&B with garden
So, We are looking for a quaint place near public transportation so we can do the Lavander route.
Second, I am looking for ideas about what city to stay that will make it easier to travel around.
Third, any ideas about ecoturism?
Finally, any recommendations for a tour company that do Provence without going to Paris ?
Thanks!

I would base around or in Avignon or Arles or some smaller town like St-Reme-de-Provence - this area has so so much to see and do in a relatively small area - Les Beaux - awesome Les Beau - the Dead City on top of a plateau overlooking miles of Provence - the Pont du Gard - the Roman aqueduct that is one of the best Roman relics outside of Italy - Arles and Avignon themselves - Avignon's Palace of the Pope's being one remarkable don't miss edifice that has stood the test of time
and on and on - even if you do not have a car all is possible but with a car it's nicer and easier - consider renting a car for a few days - but you can get to all those places by carefully planning public transportation.

The best lavender routes are not in the area of Arles and Avignon and Les Baux, though those are great places to visit. This site shows the best areas for lavender: http://www.grande-traversee-alpes.co...-de-la-lavande
You will really need to rent a car to do a lavender trip.
