Rental Car Help
Hello. My husband and I are traveling to Iceland in May with our 17 month old.
I need to get our rental car booked and I am struggling a little bit. We will be there a Monday - Saturday. Do we need a 4x4 this time of year or are we OK without one? I don't want to be restricted by what we'll be able to do but I didn't know if in May a 4x4 would be a neccesity. (We will be traveling from Reykjavik to Vik, Jokularlon, Selfoss with stops at tons of destinations along the way.)
What rental car companies have the best reviews and are the most trusted? Prices are kind of all of the place. I want to make sure we get a good deal but want to go with a trusted company. We will need a GPS and an automatic car.
If you have any additional Iceland traveling tips for that time of year, I would love to hear them.

We rented from Blue in late May. Booked a special online, but they are also helpful by phone. We paid US$300+ for a mid size automatic car for 8 days inclusive of CDW etc. that they include on every rental, but we didn't add any optionals like sand/ash. Pick up was slow (lots of people), but drop off was fast and easy (preference given to those dropping off). We did not need a 4x4 for the paved roads. Some rain and wind, but no snow and ice when we were there (but that is one data point).
