Rental Car Age requirement

We would like to drive some while we are in Norway this summer. My husband will be 77. Is there an age limitation of car rentals for older people?

I think it depends on the country and the rental agency. My father drove in France at 80-81.

This subject has become of interest to me recently and I found, while looking for a rental for an upcoming trip to England, that age restrictions, if any, will be discovered when they ask for your age as you begin a search. So I suggest you begin a search and look for any references to age as you go. I didn't run into any, other than if I was over 25, I believe it was, but depending on the company & country, there may be some. You'll find out as you go.

I was going to suggest just trying to start a rental process online and see what happens. Hertz for example doesn't have an upper limit in their age restrictions, only lower.

Here's an article, seems decent, doesn't mention any for Norway http://www.smartertravel.com/travel-...tml?id=4577096

I drove in France in 2015 at 80.

I usually use CarRentals.com and the only age restriction they ask about is, are you 25 or older.

Also, most cases, they confirm and then pay at the counter.

Plus, no CC involved when you accept and they confirm.

Some rental agencies, for example the ever popular but expensive Dan Dooley in Ireland, don't have upper limits but charge a lot more for people in older age groups. (However, even at younger ages, there are usually better prices than theirs available.)
