I am a little confused about the address of Reed. The address I see posted most often is 11 rue Amelie. However I have read a review of Gusto Italia who had 3 locations in the 7th and one of them is 11 rue Amelie. I didn't know if Reed took over that address or not. On google street view it looks empty but that may be because it is an old view. Thanks.

Reed's address is 11, bis, rue Amelie in the 7th. The reference "bis" clues you that there are two #11s on rue
Amelie, side by side. Rue Amelie is a small street (maybe only one block long) around the corner from rue Cler and parallel to rue Malar (where restaurant Chez L'Ami Jean is).

Yes, I was just going to post the address on her card with the 'bis'.
I have probably been the one who has dined most often with Catherine for both lunch and dinner. Have had great for both and she is truly most reasonable!
a bientot...

REED - 7th Arr. - 11 rue Amélie.
NEW– Everyone goes to Paris looking for a hidden gem. This is it.
REED opened just last year on rue Amélie, where we once lived, and became our local kitchen when we wanted a nice dinner. It’s a small restaurant that features fresh home cooking in nice setting with only a dozen or so seats. The owner is a wonderful French Canadian woman. The food is wonderful – no caveats -- wonderful homemade cooking with fresh ingredients in perfect portions. The chicken with morels is one of my favorites. The accompanying mashed potatoes are a sin of butter and cream. Her simple salad has a perfect zesty dressing on it. Every dessert – usually 3 featured per night -- are all fresh in house. Everything is homemade except the bread and wine. The wine list is limited, but the choices good and fairly priced.
Important to note, the owner/chef was trained at the Ritz Escoffier (yes, the Ritz cooking school) and spent many years as a private chef to some of Switzerland’s and France’s wealthiest families. She speaks perfect English and French and is delightful to talk with.
I cannot recommend this place enough, wonderful, simple but elegant French home cooking in a pleasant setting.
It is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

JMK38. I broke my wrist in a bike accident just before my trip to France. It turned out to be my favorite trip.
Since i'm disabled in my right arm, and, the injury was on my left. I needed help bathing (dear husband) and eating, but so many people made my husband relax and cut my food. Walking into stops to eat on our trip, men with casts held up their arms to me as well as on the road. I will never forget that

We ate at Reeds a month ago and I've been meaning to post a thank you to the Fodorites who recommended it. Catherine Reed is gracious, warm and an excellent chef! She treated us as if we were guests in her home, each dish was elegant but simple--salade vert (rocket with pefectly shaved parmesan) a risotto avec legumes, a joue de porc and an incredibly light chocolate mousse/gateau. The dinner was also amazingly reasonable.
For some reason, Reed hasn't yet hit many of the foodie web sites, but once it does, it'll be tricky to get reservations!! The entire experience was lovely.

We loved Reed! Catherine is just lovely! Our dinner for two with wine was less than 100 euros (with an appetizer and dessert).
I still dream of that risotto! The restaurant is warm, charming and chic. Small but not cramped...taupes and reds in the dining room. I also found that I like rillette and andouillette! My husband had veau du blanquette...wonderful!
We made a reservation by email (see above). We would have gone back had we not gotten sick later in our trip. I highly recommend it!

I started this thread in February back in Chicago when it was cold. Well now I am in Paris and my husband and I ate at Reed last Wednesday. It was wonderful. Warm and cozy and Catherine was very friendly and accommodating. We had been trying to call to make a reservation but could'nt get through. We took a chance and walked in without a reservation. She was easily able to accommodate us. There were only two other couples dining. For appetizers I had Foie GRAS Terrine and my husband has mackerel and cheese - both were very good. Plat for me was chicken with a delicious gravy and mashed potatoes. My husband had lamb stew. Also very good. For desert I had chocolate mousse tart and my husband had lemon cheesecake. They were both excellent. With a pichet of wine the total came to €105. I hope more people try this place. The night we ate there it was definitely slow. With this kind of food, there should be a line out the door.

The menu is based on what is available...if you email Catherine ahead of time and let her know what you need, I am sure she can work with you regarding dietary needs. I just wouldn't be too demanding as far as selection goes. She only offers 4-5 main course options but I think she could work with seafood on notice. Her risotto is top notch!

My sisters and I took Catherine's cooking class last week when we were in Paris and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We were so impressed with the meal that we came back a few nights later for dinner and were not disappointed. It was by far, the best food we had in Paris. You can read a more detailed review I wrote on Trip Advisor. Suffice it to say, Catherine is an amazing talent and her restaurant is a true gem.

@Camuro123: Do you happen to have the information handy for the cooking class? I've just emailed her about a reservation in the restaurant, but the cooking class is of interest as well. I'm headed there in about a week-and-a-half, so may be a long shot to pin her down for either. But worth a try!
