I would be travelling to Barcelona in mid May. Can some body suggest hotels with highest safety , clean and good for 3 nights. Budget not very around 150-160 dollars a night. Would like to get idea of places to eat and what are the vegetarian options at these places. What should I expect in terms of price for eating in restaurents /hotels. I am asking so that I am prepared

IMHO you don't need to worry about safety inside the hotel. If you're worried outside the Rambla over night is interesting but I wouldn't call it dangerous.

Thanks. Will do. If you can suggest a few names, will be good. Equidistant from Airport to Hotel and City. Is the traffic bad that causes delays and we plan for those events too?

That hotel is not in the center of the city and I do not think it is a good choice. It's about a 45 minute bus ride to Passeig Gracia...

You will find vegetarian dishes at almost every restaurant.

Safety is not a problem, as long as you are careful with your personal belongings...the only real fear should be pickpocketing and if you take car, you should be fine......secure your money, passports and phone.

Hotels are very expensive in Barcelona; if you can manage a minimum of 180 euro you might find a better selection. But you have left this very late..Ii would expect that most of the better budget hotels are already filled.

What do you plan to see and do in Barcelona?
If you have very little idea, and have not even booked hotels maybe you ought to think about visiting another city nearby--Tarragona or Girona...

It might already be too late to buy tickets for any of the major attractions in Barcelona...you are going in a few weeks!

Don't think that way. Find Placa Catalunya on the map and try to be in walking distance. The airport bus will drop you there for not much money. It's not too far to the main sites you'll likely want to see on a short trip

For a hotel that is ‘not very around’ $150-$160, I would recommend the Hotel Casa Fuster, it has a great location, awesome breakfast and it’s in a very safe area. It is much more than the figures you said, I’m guessing you wanted above your figures, not below?

I suggest looking at a website like booking.com and plugging in your dates. I find the reviews there are pretty reliable and you can check at a map to see where the hotel is located. I would opt to stay as close to the center as you can and not aim to be equidistant to the airport.
Once you have picked a hotel you're interested in, check their actual website to see if you can better deal by booking directly.
If you are near the center, you will be able to find many restaurants.

That is a 5-star hotel with rates ranging from the 600s to the 900s euros per night, in May.

AzureGirl, you must have stayed at CASA FUSTER a decade ago. it's a 5-star hotel now, and prices in May are ranging from the 600s to the 900s in euro!!!!!

Prices in Barcelona have skyrocketed in recent years...!

We stayed (long ago) at the conveniently located Praktik Rambla near Placa de Catalunya /Eixample, which may be in this budget range if available. You can set location filters on booking.com to see whats available as youve left this too close to travel. Barcelona has gotten really expensive since our travels.

We ate well as vegetarians, you can also search for vegetarian/vegetarian friendly restaurants on Tripadvisor/HappyCow/Google and scan a few menus to get an idea.

The problem it's late.

I got a good deal at Roma Reial last summer. But right now the one night price is about €160. I think that's more than double what I paid.

The OP just needs to see what they can find in there price range
