Recommendation for Anniversary Dinner in Paris

We would be fine with paying up to about 200E. If you could give reasons why you love the place and what we would be expected to spend, I would appreciate it.

I also was wondering if the restaurants in the Eiffel Tower were any good.

BTW, we definitely want french cuisine. We are adventurous eaters. Thanks again!

For that amount you could dine and drink very well at Au Petit Marguery, a lovely, old-fashioned bistro in the 13th. The atmosphere is always upbeat and feels like a party is just about to start--which is sometimes is, as it's a favorite place for family celebrations.

The 3-course menu runs around 40 Euros per person, with supplements for some dishes. There are about a dozen dishes to choose from for each course, of which my favorites are the sautéed wood mushrooms (fall and winter) or steak with mushroom sauce. Desserts include a soufflé. The wine carte is excellent, and the waiters are very good at pairing wines with the food.

Here's an interesting article about that establishment:

You can have a fabulous lunch at Jules Verne for about 55 each without wine. I recommend that very highly. About Tour d'Argent, I am not sure you can have dinner for two for 200 E if you order wine. They also have a well-priced lunch, though, in over-the-top-elegant surroundings. For the "good rapport, price-quality ratio," you might consider lunch.

Dukey,

Thanks very much for the link to the article. This is the only Paris restaurant that we keep going back to (which makes it hard to try new ones, but oh well).
