Recommend your favorite restaurants in Madrid and Toledo!
3 thirty year old women heading to madrid and toledo next week. looking for suggestions for a good place for a bday dinner (about 40-50 euro PP) and also any other must eats below this, especially tapas bars etc. Thanks in advance!

My suggestion is Restaurante Teatriz at 15 Hermosilla St.
This pretty restaurant (40-60 euro) is a former theatre decorated by a french designer.
Other pretty and typical restaurant is "Casa Alberto" in calle Hermosilla, 18. It's famous the "Rabo de toro" (stewed oxtail). Tapas are available at the counter.
Tapas bars:
* At calle Jesús: "Los Gatos", "La Fábrica", "Cervantes"
* At calle Cava Baja: "Txakolí", "Casa Lucas", "Taberna Tempranillo"
* At calle Victoria: "Alhambra", "La Casa del Abuelo"
* At Plaza de Santa Ana: "Cervecería Alemana", "La Moderna"
...

every time i am in madrid i make a point of dtopping here, any time of day.
this is reasonable priced for that shopping area day. near u.s. embassy, calle serrrano.

they are open for breakfast lunch and dinner.
fun menu, and i can´t imagine you won´t be happy.
they have interesting salads, too. i had a dessert that has something to do with mango.. it was superb.

the venison in cream sauce at l'Abadia is great. (venado en salsa)
another nice atmosphere to include as you walk around and very near the mentioned "l'Abadia" is a place ( a restored palatial home now restaurant) called "Casón de los Lopez de Toledo". i always add this place for at least a rest stop.
the upstairs dining room is very well appointed and the food we had was excellent.

Hostal del Cardenal is a great suggestion. outdoor summer dining is unforgettable.
