Reasonably priced B&B in Edinburgh City Centre?
Hello,
Will be traveling to Edinburgh next month for one night. There are two of us and we're looking for a reasonable but nice B&B near the city centre. We don't need anything fancy but am wondering if anyone out there has any good reviews of any B&B's within the city that they have stayed at and would recommend. We are in our early 30's and in great health so we don't mind a bit of walking but would love to remain as close to the "action" of the city centre as possible, as we only have a short time within the city. Thank you so much for any suggestions you may have!

One night in Edinburgh? Why bother? You'll just get unpacked and then pack again. Make it two or three nights.
There is a lastminute.com store in the train station. I got my B&B there but it was a 15 minute bus ride from the center.

I can understand lots of reasons one would spend one night in Edinburgh. A lay over. Or one night to recover from the jetlag before heading elsewhere. Or one night before hooking up w/ a guided tour. Or one night before catching a cruise. Lots and LOTS of reasons make sense. But we still need your budget. An actual number . . . .

We all have different ideas as to the definition of reasonable.
But if 100 GBP/night is within range, I highly recommend the Elmview. www.elmview.co.uk
It is not quite in the city center but only about a 10-minute walk from the Royal Mile, with many restaurants within walking distance, in a quiet neighborhood right on The Meadows. (We stayed there partly because we had a car and they offer private parking.) Fantastic rooms, lovely hosts, and delicious breakfasts. Worth every penny!

I can recommend 14 Hart Street where we stayed for 2 nights. It's in a quiet back street but very near the main tourist areas and we found it easy to walk everywhere. Only downside is that if you have a car there is very limited parking close by and we had to park a few mins walk away. But if you are arriving by train it's just round the corner.
