Ready to Book - Itinerary Feedback Wanted (Budapest/Vienna/Prague)

Ready to book my fall vacation to Budapest/Vienna/Prague and I am interested in feedback on my itinerary (hotels and number of days in each city).
Arrival: Budapest (10/16/05) 4 nights at Hotel Victoria [Train to Vienna on 10/20/05] 3 nights at either Hotel-Pension Shermin or Alstadt Vienna [Train to Prague on 10/23/05] 4 nights at Maximilian Hotel
I am hoping to take advantage of the Budapest Autumn Festival while there - wondering if I should adjust my departure from Prague to stay for the International Jazz Festival (is it worth it?). Also, restaurant recommendations (good/bad) are always welcome!!! Thanks.

Enjoy! We were in those places and more in June but on a tour. There is lots to see in the cities mentioned and also places out in the country. You don't mention special interests for sighseeing, just the festival.

About restaurants: you can find plenty of recommendations with searches on Fodors and in guide books. Hard to know since it depends on taste. I could mention a few but being an older couple and liking local food it might not fit you. It is interesting how many Americans do look for pizza and hamburger places while in Europe!

Did you consider a pension in Budapest. We were very happy with ours. You can find a reference to it in my trip report: http://fodors.com/forums/threadselec...amp;dirtyBit=1
