Ready for Italy (I Think) ... Thanks for the Help!
Let's see ... A refrigerator shelf fell on my hand yesterday (not good for a guy on blood thinners), and I have an infected mosquito bite on my ankle. That can only mean one thing. We're ready to go on another Italian vacation. Thanks to everyone for your help.
It's been 13 years since the infamous 2005 journey that we took with Kim and Mary. The four of us are finally allowed to be back in the country together. I've just finished reading Putting In Petrol For Dummies, so I am confident we will not repeat any of our misadventures from the past. Vegas has it at even odds whether I will survive the trip intact. We shall see. If not, it will be my Last Supper.
Milan,Bologna, Ravenna, Padova, Piemente wine country, Torino and Lago d'Orta await. Back at ya next month ... I hope. Grazie!

Tom, if you have time we thoroughly enjoyed this day trip out of Bologna: https://www.italiandays.it. It is not cheap, but we had a terrific time with Alessandro. Eating and drinking - what more could you want?
Buon viaggio!

" Do you get the "super insurance" when you rent a car?"
We got the one where you pay more but don't have to pay for the entire car when we screw up.
Knoxville couple - If you see a car careening through the hills of Piemonte, that will probably be us. Are you going on a truffle hunt? We're doing one near Alba (we're spending four nights in La Morra). I'm sure the truffle hunt is gimmicky, but it's all in the story. Have a great trip!!!

Also doing a truffle hunt near Alba (arranged by La Villa Favorita), followed by lunch, wine, and truffles at the tirafulu’s restaurant. Cheesy, but guaranteed to be fun. Maybe not as funny as the donkey Palio a few days before, but fun nonetheless. Salute e cin cin!
