Re: Free Flights and Europe
I posted a question like this earlier but I don't think I asked the right questions so I will try again.

My girlfriend and I have two free round trip tickets anywhere British Airways flies. Problem is, we don't know where to go. We have been floating the idea of going to Spain or Italy, maybe Greece or Portugal (a very good problem to have here) but we can't make up our collective minds. We've both been to Europe on numerous occasions, and we are looking for more of a relaxing, eating, drinking, shopping with some sightseeing, adventure...

We plan to go the end of November to the Beginning of December for about 10 days (Thanksgiving week plus some)...We'd like to visit two (3 max) cities.

Any suggestions? Italian Riviera? Venice? Barcelona? Sevilla? Porto? Corfu? Some magical town we haven't heard of that is perfect?

Help?

That is not a great time of year for going anywhere IMO except around the equator because it's too cold and rainy and there's no vegetation, so even if it's only cloudy and cold, there's not much to look at -- unless you want to do a vacation for inside things (museums, theater, concerts, etc) which you don't, apparently.

I'd forget the Europe stuff myself and go to Mexico, the Caribbean or Rio (in Brazil), or Cairo. Greece isn't that warm in November, about 60 in the afternoon, maybe even worse towards the end and December. I'd go to Rio or Cairo as they are rather expensive airfares normally, and both have very warm weather in Nov-Dec. If you can really go anywhere, why waste that on Portugal, which is not that expensive to get to. I am assuming you are flying from the US, as you don't say.

I saw your other post and I could be forgetting, but I don't think you said anything very different in that question but you didn't give much info so people could make suggestions (like your choices or where you are flying from)?

Craig,
Because you wrote "and we are looking for more of a relaxing, eating, drinking, shopping with some sightseeing, adventure..." then a visit or return visit to a country whose language you speak. So to get closer to the locals not just the sights.
But of course you could just go for the most expensive option. That's what I would do!
