I have stayed in many RCI units in various countries. I am sure the ones in Portugal are ok.

For New Year's last year, we stayed at the Alto Golf and Country Club (gold crown RCI). Website is www.altoclub.com.

We started our trip by renting a car in Lisbon and spending 3 nights in Sintra - that was the highlight of the trip by far. We then spent the rest of the time in the timeshare in the Algarve. The condo unit itself was fabulous (albeit a little chilly from all the marble floors!). We had a wonderfully large patio and had a fantastic view of the fireworks on New Years. Our unit was a 2BR - the master bedroom was quite large and the second was fairly small.

While the unit itself was wonderful, the location could have been better. Portimao wasn't as exciting as it could have been, and there was not a huge selection of good restaurants in the area. We did have a car, though, and day trips were easy and fun.

In all, it was a great trip and I would highly recommend the Gold Crown RCI timeshares in Portugal.

I would recommend the Four Seasons Country Club at Quinto do Logo, the accommodation is great and the facilities superb. There is also one in Vilamoura which, although I havent been, should be to the same standard.
