Ravenna beach hotels

Does anyone know what happens to hotels in Ravenna in October? I can only find listings for dates through September. I can't believe they all shut down by then. Has anyone stayed out there during the late fall? What's the availability and the weather?

I was in Ravenna in October but stayed in town, near the monuments. I don't think of Ravenna so much as a beach town as a port town.

Anyway, unless there is some reason you want to be by the water, there are plenty of nice tourist hotels and b&bs in the historic district of Ravenna that are open all year round, as well as business hotels.

I was hoping to combine a viewing of the mosaics with a stay at the beach. Should I be looking elsewhere?

What about Rimini? You could visit Ravenna and other interesting places e.g. Bologna, San Marino, etc, it has some Roman remains itself, and it's a beach resort.

Hi jberd, I have not been in Ravenna during October but I would imagine they are possibly closed as the weather is anticipiated to be cold and perhaps even rainy, it can certainly get that way further north.

If you want to enjoy Ravenna it is a beautiful city IMO.

I stayed in Ravenna during November. The mosaic sites (baptistries, churches, etc) were all accessible and the town was joyfully uncrowded. It wasn't beach weather during November so I can't offer any info about that--the beach was the furthest thing from my mind at the time.
