Ravello to Positano? Late at night?
Hi all, very happy to report that i will be honeymooning on the Amalfi Coast in October!! couldnt be more excited! i have read your reviews and heard just wonderful things about Ravello and can't wait to visit .. we will be basing ourselves in Positano but wanted to take a day trip to Positano (via the boat to amalfi and then bus or taxi to ravello i guess). we did really want to attend one of the classical music concerts hosted in ravello (weds oct 17th) however i wasn't sure if we'd be able to get back to positano late at night after? does anyone know if this is possible or how to do it? is there a time that public transport (such as the boat back to positano) would end? any ideas or if you attend one of these concerts is it best to plan on accommodations in ravello that night? thank you so much for the help!!

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! Although I was a little confused by your posting, I think you are wondering how difficult it is to get from Ravello to Positano. These two towns are in close proximity to each other, although Positano is on the water while Ravello is situated up on the ridge of a small valley. You can easily drive from one to the next -- going by water isn't the answer as you would then have to get up to Ravello. If you don't want to drive on the tortuous Amalfi drive, grab a cab! Or reserve a cab for the return trip following the concert.

Ho Octb - Buses between Amalfi and Positano don't run very late, unfortunately.

You might just be able to get the last bus down from Ravello to Amalfi if you're lucky - but after that it's taxi, I'm afraid.
You can expect to pay anything up to € 100 for a late night taxi, I think.
Hope this helps ...

Hi O,
As noted, if you want to return after about 22:00, you will have to take a cab, hire a driver or rent a car for the day.
Schedules for SITA buses between Amalfi and Positano are at http://tinyurl.com/ybe6xk
