Rail Strike in France?

We are leaving tomorrow for France and I seem to remember hearing or reading there were rumblings of a French rail strike.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It's going ahead; minimum service on the sncf; check the sites to see if your trains are affected.

Paris itself will not be much affected, except on certain RER line segments that are operated by the SNCF. The regular Métro and bus will continue to run.

If you have to travel on national or commuter rail lines, though, be prepared for delays at least on Mon-Wed, and possibly beyond if the SNCF continues the strike.

yes the ratp - metro site says no problems except on the SNCF/train and certain RERs (not the one from CDG). The strike starts Monday night and continues to Wednesday morniing: 35% trains to work...

The strike that's been called is "reconductible" - that is the rail unions can decide to continue it past Wednesday morning. The French rail company says it intends to continue negotiating today (Monday) in hope of avoiding a strike.

On the Paris-Clermont Ferrand line (TER trains) the SNCF is warning of limited service as late as Wednesday afternoon even if the strike ends at 8 a.m. Wednesday. For example, a trip from Paris to La Charite-sur- Loire on that line departing mid-day Wednesday would take 6 hours, by a slightly modified route, rather than the usual 2 hours and 15 minutes, according to the SNCF's Ter site. This is a regional, non-TGV line.
