I would also recommend Sir John Soane's Museum.....It would go in my top ten of things to see in London.....Also if you are near the Bank of England building then you are also near St.Mary Woolnoth,on Lombard St....This is the very impressive church that John Newton,(of Amazing Grace fame),was a pastor of for many years...Students of architecture will want to see this church, anyway, because it was done by one of Wren's pupils...The Design Museum is a must...I found this museum one that I would visit many times because they always have very impressive exhibitions..I mean, who else could have done an exhibition on the life and work of Constance Spry, and made such a terrific success of it ??? I totally love London......

I also highly recommend the Victorian cemeteries - some of the most beautiful art and architecture in the city. Hampstead is probably the most visited, but Acton Park (frequently used in spooky films, full of different birds and wildlife) and Kensal Green are really beautiful. Nunhead (south of the Thames) is also cool.

Sir John Soane's -- another vote for this quirky, charming place.
I also like to go to St. Martin in the Field Church(next to the Nat'l Gallery/Trafalgar) and either get tickets for one of their amazing performances, or even just sit and listen to them practice in the afternoon. The crypt holds a small restaurant, and hosts jazz at least once a week. They have a website with all the details and schedule.
For gardens, I enjoy St. James and Green parks--across from each other. I ignore the palace down the street
Every London Walk I've taken has been a real pleasure.
I still enjoy The Tower of London -- but you MUST go the second it opens and leave when the crowds get overwhelming.(preferably on a week day too) This way, no lines, some peace and quiet, and not just annoyance. Same with Westminster Abbey.
